SOILS

Our Authorized Onsite Soil Evaluator and environmental staff work closely with our Civil Engineering Departments to assist residential and commercial developers along with individual landowners with septic system, permitting and soils feasibility issues. By using modern technology and keeping current with the latest environmental legislation we are able to ensure the success of our clients' projects.

ENVIRONMENTAL

Balzer and Associates, Inc. provide environmental services from multiple disciplines and personnel with specific expertise. Our professional staff are composed of biologists, environmental scientists, soils scientists, hydrologists, landscape architects and engineers that assist clients in pursuing development goals with respect to federal, state and local regulations driven to protect environmental resources. Balzer and Associates, Inc. can delineate the boundaries of wetlands and stream channels, conduct wetland/stream assessments and perenniality studies, coordinate with federal, state and local authorities to obtain environmental permits. In the event that permitting authorities require additional data, our services also incorporate surveys including threatened and endangered species and habitat analysis, Water Quality Impact Assessments (Chesapeake Bay, RPA), Biological Monitoring (benthic macroinvertebrate sampling and identification) and Nutrient Management Planning. Balzer and Associates, Inc. are also able to guide our clients through construction monitoring reporting, including storm water management and soil and erosion control monitoring. Lastly, we ensure mitigation needs are met as required by federal, state and local permitting through onsite preservation or restoration opportunities, offsite advanced mitigation opportunities or mitigation banking opportunities.
