John has been with Balzer and Associates, Inc. for 25 years and is currently the Manager of our New River Valley office and oversees our Surveying Department there. John graduated from Randolph-Macon College in 1984 and is a licensed Virginia Land Surveyor. His extensive knowledge of ALTA, boundary, and topographic surveys, and construction staking makes him a true asset to our organization and the community.
John continues to give back to his profession through active involvement in the Virginia Association of Surveyors where he has served as President of the Western Chapter and as a member of the American Congress of Surveying and Mapping. In 2006 John was re-appointed by Governor Tim Kaine to serve on the APELSCIDLA Board for the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Steve graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree in 1998 and came to work for Balzer and Associates, Inc. fresh out of school. Steve took the opportunity to relocate from our Richmond office to our New River Valley office in 2002 when he became a licensed Landscape Architect. Steve continues his professional development through his membership in the American Society of Landscape Architects and the Virginia Society of Landscape Architects.
