SportsQuest Groundbreaking Ceremony

Balzer and Associates, Inc., partnered with Haley Builders, is providing building design and engineering services for a number of buildings on the SportsQuest campuses.

The first phase of East Campus is primarily comprised of playing fields and an amphitheater. Balzer is designing two 3,000 sq. ft. concession buildings to support those fields, along with a 4,500 sq. ft. event pavilion. A stage structure to accommodate a 2,500 seat amphitheater is being designed as well and will be constructed in a later phase.

Balzer is also slated to design a 145,000 sq. ft. field house for the West Campus which is planned to have various sports venues including a natatorium, ice rink and a velodrome. The field house will contain a large multi-purpose space capable of hosting a variety of sporting events including arena football and indoor track and field with as many as 2,800 spectators. The multi-purpose space is planned to have twelve court modules to be used for hosting large indoor sports tournaments such as basketball, volleyball, wrestling and martial arts. The building will also contain eleven competition squash courts including an all glass championship court, team and high performance locker rooms, concession area, a sports pub and a pro-shop.

Construction of the East Campus buildings will begin later this spring and the field house construction is slated to begin next fall.
