Creative People

Creativity manifests itself in many ways and I am constantly amazed by the creativity of the Architects, Engineers, Landscape Architects, and Land Surveyors that I have the pleasure of working with every day.

Each year our leadership team takes a couple of days to get away from the office to spend some quality time together and to strategize about our company’s future. This year’s retreat took place at Wintergreen Resort. On the Friday morning that our retreat started, as I looked out across the beautiful mountains of Nelson County , Virginia and beyond, I received an email from David Lisowski, a Landscape Architect in our Richmond, Virginia office. His subject line, “Good Morning”, was so appropriate for the photo below, which he had taken at sunrise in the office that morning and which I share with you below. Balzersunrise

Following this year’s retreat I asked our participants a simple question: “where should we meet next year?”. Here’s how Bill Moore, a first-time participant and a Civil Engineer by trade, responded: “… my vote is don’t mess with a good thing.  When you triangulate between offices (including Harrisonburg), Wintergreen falls very close to the centroid (see attached Trifecta.pdf)” . This was his attachment:

These may seem like silly little examples of creativity, but they speak volumes about the people of Balzer and Associates, Inc.  We are constantly striving to find creative ways to solve the sometimes simple, often complex, challenges that stand between our clients, and our employees, and their dreams.

If you are in Richmond, Virginia; Staunton, Virginia; Harrisonburg, Virginia; Roanoke, Virginia; Blacksburg, Virginia; or Christiansburg, Virginia, and you have a project that requires professional services, we’d be honored to have one of our creative professionals work with you to achieve your goals.

If you are a professional; looking for a place to showcase your creative talents, we are looking for exceptional people.
